Last Saturday, as per our internal training regime, PrivacyCompliance organized an internal seminar where we went over and discussed the provisions of China’s Personal Information Protection Law (“PIPL”). The seminar saw the participation of our staff and experts from multiple fields. We debated the implications of the various provisions of the PIPL and compared them to those of other personal data regulations such as the EU’s GDPR, Singapore’s PDPA, and Vietnam’s Decree 13. The seminar revealed that the PIPL shares many similarities with the GDPR and Decree 13 but there are also some key differences that reflect the specific views of the Chinese government.
This is a part of our commitment to broaden our knowledge horizon in order to accommodate our ever-increasing volume of clients.
