💡 Looking Back on Our Two Workshops: Practical Perspectives on Personal Data Protection

Following two specialised workshops on “Personal Data Protection”, PrivacyCompliance had the opportunity to engage with representatives from businesses and organisations, as well as professionals working in legal, compliance, information technology, data governance, and human resources. The programme focused not only on clarifying legal requirements but also on sharing practical perspectives on implementing compliance in business operations.

💬 Throughout the discussions, participants explored a number of common questions:
🔹 Where should organisations begin when building a compliance roadmap?
🔹 How should organisations implement data subject consent, design data flows, establish the Data Protection Officer (DPO) function, and prepare Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) and Data Transfer Impact Assessment (DTIA) reports?
🔹 How can organisations meet legal requirements while maintaining efficient operations?
🔹 What should be considered when sharing personal data with third parties or responding to personal data incidents?

🔎 As every organisation differs in its business model, data processing activities, and governance maturity, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Throughout the programme, PrivacyCompliance’s speakers analysed practical scenarios, clarified legal requirements, and shared implementation experience relating to data governance, risk management, Privacy by Design, vendor management, and data subject rights.

📖 The workshops highlighted that effective compliance requires both a sound understanding of legal requirements and a practical implementation approach. Participants gained insights into compliance planning, risk identification, implementation priorities, and balancing legal obligations with operational needs.
